Taking part in A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS 
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

"A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS"
will to be a relaxed and creative event for artists, but we do need some conditions. When you pay your fee to take part, it is assumed you have read and accepted the information below
Defined terms: 

“A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS”
means a competition whereby artists paint within the Broads Area over 4 days, then exhibit  to the public and offer their work for sale

"Organiser" means Linda H. Matthews Artist Studio @ Slippery Bottoms Boatyard Horsefen Road Ludham Norfolk NR29 5GQ
"Event" means “A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS

"Artist" means any person who has registered to take part in the Event, paid the registration fee to the Organiser and received an email confirmation of registration.

"Buyer" means a person who buys any artwork at the Event.

Participating Artists are responsible for their own travel & accommodation costs.


Ownership of artwork: The Artist retains ownership of copyright on his/her artwork created at
 A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS but it is a condition of entry that the Organiser has the right to reproduce Artist’s work in connection with the promotion of A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS across any media, in any format anywhere across the globe solely for the promotion of the Event.
 The Organiser may film or photograph Artists and their work during the Event and entering the Event constitutes agreement by the Artists to being filmed.

Where you paint: The location where the Artist paints must be within the Broads area. Any artwork which appears to the Organiser to have been painted at another location may be excluded from the Event at the Organiser's discretion, with no recompense.

Responsibility: Artists take part in the Event at their own risk. The Organiser does not accept any responsibility for any loss, damage or theft suffered by the Artists or their materials, including loss or damage, theft of artworks exhibited at the Event.

Only work on supports registered with the organiser will be accepted for exhibition,
this is so we know the work has been produced during the event.

Rejections: The Organiser can refuse to exhibit an artwork, or exclude an artwork from the Event, for any reason it chooses. If an Artist's work is rejected he/she will be informed on Monday 25 September 2017 at the Event. If the artist is not at the Event to be informed, the Organiser will keep the artwork until 10am Tuesday 26 September 2017 at which point it will be disposed of.
The registration fee will not be refunded in any circumstances.
Displaying of artworks: The Organiser has the sole responsibility for displaying artwork at the exhibition. The Organiser can place artworks wherever they feel fit and without prior agreement with the Artist.

Selling an artwork: All artworks submitted for exhibition at the Event shall be available for sale by the Organiser as agent for the Artist. At a minimum price of £50, there will be no maximum.
The Artist will be entitled to receive 50 percent of the price paid for the Artist's work and the Organiser shall be entitled to retain the balance of the price paid as a commission for its agency.
The Organiser will pay the Artist 50 percent of the price received for works sold by cheque or BACS which will be posted to an address specified by the Artist, on or before 30 November 2017. Payment will only be made to the Artist once payment from the Buyer has cleared.

A BRUSH WITH THE BROADS £1000.00 Prize
: The Organiser will decide and announce the winner at the exhibition on 26 September 2016. The Organiser's decision is final and binding.

The Venue: Any venues used for the event are the property said venue.  All Artists must comply with any requirements imposed by the venue owners.

Collection of unsold artwork: Any unsold artwork must be collected by the artist or their representative  10am - noon Tuesday 27 September 2016 any work not collected from the allocated collection point will be donated to a local charity to be sold and the Organiser shall have no responsibility to the Artist for any safekeeping of artworks during or after the Event.

Law Applicable: All Artists who have registered to participate in the Event will be bound by these terms and conditions, which are governed by English Law.
